10k-Mile 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia

United States Lot # V-000070 Active 174 Bids & Comments
Description Bids & Comments

Presentation

This 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia was initially delivered to Ferrari of Silicon Valley in Redwood City, California, and it was purchased in 2025 by the current owner, who has added approximately 2,400 of the 10k indicated miles. It is powered by a 4.3-liter DOHC V8 paired with a six-speed F1 automated transaxle and is finished in black with silver stripes over black upholstery. The car is equipped with 19″ Scuderia alloy wheels, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors, Magnetorheological dampers, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a radio-delete panel, carbon-fiber-framed seats, and automatic climate control. This 430 Scuderia is now offered in California on dealer consignment with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.

The exterior is finished in black with carbon-fiber accents and optional dual silver racing stripes. Additional details include xenon headlights, Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and dual exhaust finishers that exit through the rear valance. Paint meter readings are provided in the gallery, and paint protection film has been applied to the front end.
10k-Mile 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia photo 3
The 19″ Scuderia alloy wheels wear Pirelli tires that were mounted in May 2025, at which time the brake fluid was flushed. Stopping is handled by yellow-finished brake calipers fitted over Brembo carbon-ceramic rotors, and the car is equipped with Magnetorheological dampers.
10k-Mile 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia photo 4
The carbon-fiber-framed seats are upholstered in black Alcantara and cloth and are mounted over exposed diamond-plate aluminum flooring. Carbon fiber trims the console, door panels, and dashboard, and the center stack features a radio-delete panel. Additional appointments include yellow seatbelts, automatic climate control, drilled aluminum pedals, and power windows and locks. The removed head unit is included in the sale.
10k-Mile 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia photo 5
The carbon-fiber-trimmed steering wheel features an integrated LED shift light, an engine-start button, carbon-fiber shift paddles, and a manettino dial for control of dynamic settings. Instrumentation includes a central tachometer with an 8,500-rpm redline as well as a 220-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 10k miles, approximately 2,400 of which were added during current ownership.

The mid-mounted 4.3-liter V8 features a flat-plane crankshaft, two overhead camshafts per cylinder bank, four valves per cylinder, and an 11.9:1 compression ratio. Output was factory rated at 503 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque in Scuderia trim. An oil change was performed, and the pollen filter was replaced in May 2026. The car last passed a California emissions inspection in December 2010.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed F1 automated transaxle and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Ferrari of Silicon Valley in Redwood City, California, along with factory equipment, options, and a total suggested retail price of $296,810.

$754k is an above market fair number. Shocked it didn’t sell. What a car!

@GiocoPoco and a McLaren F1 isn't 2000x more fun to drive than a Miata but yet one is $20M and one is $10k.

These limited edition Ferraris carry a premium for a reason and will continue to do so.

@jimmyfarias
They are a slightly modified F430, it’s not 4X the experience, there might be room to grow, but the genuine high bidder pool is very small.

for some reason the scud market is not keeping pace with the other rare supercar market. I thought this would be in the 850s minimum. Wonder what the issue is

@Pista2020
Could not agree more. I would think in order to be in the Ferrari market. Your investment strategies arepretty good first to afford to be there…
Personally, I bought my 458 a few years back with the thought process of if I can play with this awesome car for a few years and get most or all of my money back that’s a good deal. The fact that it’s almost doubled in value since I bought it was not a primary concern. It’s just an added bonus.
Anyway, that’s my two cents.

@Pista2020 Well I bought probably the most expensive 08 F430 spider (MSRP of $316k) in the country in 2021 for $159,999. I sold in Oct. 2025 for $186k. After expenses I broke even - very happy.

During this past Qtr my investments grew $220k. Did I lose money in the 1st qtr - yes. But still way ahead for the year. I'll take paper assets over cars any day.

I agree 100% @Pista2020

Very happy to even make out a dollar in the end of my enjoyment. No one was buying cars thinking it would beat the market or real estate. We bought cars to enjoy them. Only recently we've seen some crazy returns going on, but that is NOT normal. Covid was one wild period and then we have this AI era going on. Just a lot of money out there right now.

There was probably a handful of cars you could have bought thinking about a return in one to two decades. That also wouldn't be any fun though if that is your only goal.

@trademark
Echoing your observation-
Comments we see from time to time on the buy/sell returns from a car with the stock market sounds like sour grapes. I wonder if they now or have ever owned a Ferrari.

In my opinion, investment returns on a car are a bonus, not the primary objective. Buy it and drive it! If the miles you add are reasonable, you’ll have no regrets when it comes time to sell.

Interested in hearing from others.

I think $754k for this was a fair price today, but on the other hand, this will be a $1M car within a year so I get the hesitance to let it go.

They're never going to make cars like this again, they will only continue to get more and more valuable as the value of the dollar falls. More and more millionaires every day but no more Scuderias ever again.

@trademark
If the original CPI formula (pre 1983) was kept the inflation calculation would be closer to $750,000, possibly higher. Moreover, comparing it to the most popular investment strategy being the Vanguard S&P 500 Index, $300,000 invested in 2007 is over $2 Million. TIL.

It's been years since I owned the car, but look at the pics closely... Ferrari installed much more carbon fiber on this car versus what is listed on the option sheet. I maxed out the carbon fiber on the build, but I think it was a change order after the original build sheet... didn't see the additional options in the documents included in pics. All the carbon fiber is easy to spot in pics.

I'm the original owner that spec'd and ordered the car. All service was performed at Ferrari Silicon Valley and Ferrari Dallas when I owned the car. We had homes in Dallas and Monterey, CA at the time. No accidents, never tracked, and spent most in time in a climate controlled garage in a collection. It does have a radio... one of the options is Ferrari iPod/iPhone.

@Flash32 also the transmission in the Scuderia has different cut gears. So you can't just take an F430, upgrade the pump and flash the ECU, it won't work or you'll break internals.

I think it's a shame more cars didn't get the 2nd gen single clutch that this has. Only the Scud and the 599 GTO got it. Single clutch gets a bad rep because frankly all the 1st gen ones did suck. But they fixed that later on in these 2nd gen models and they're just as fast as a dual clutch (458 is 55ms vs the scud's 60ms) but with more excitement, you can actually feel the clutch disengage and reengage unlike a dual that already has the next gear pre-engaged.

2nd gen single clutch > dual clutch > 1st gen single clutch

Personally I think the transmission in the Scud/599 GTO is the greatest automated transmission ever made.

THE SCUDERIA.
The very namesake of the Shield proudly borne by every great Ferrari competition car that came before it & ever since.
The ultimate expression of Ferrari's naturally aspirated V8 lineage.
Unfiltered. Uncompromising. Unapologetic.
This is the car worthy of carrying the Scuderia name - just as the Enzo was worthy of bearing the name of its founder.
Some names are earned, not bestowed. The righteous bear them with honor.

The major difference is the shift speed and character of the transmission.
The F1 SuperFast system in the 430 Scuderia executes gear changes in 60 milliseconds, producing the signature violent, explosive shifts that make the car feel mechanically alive

Faster hydraulic pressure rise from the upgraded pump from a 2005 and higher operating pressures - 51ish vs 60ish bar
More aggressive clutch engagement ramps
Higher allowable engine torque during the shift event

Together, these create the “magical” punch the Scud is known for — the drivetrain snaps into the next gear with race‑car brutality, especially in Race and CST‑Off modes.

The other defining trait is the lack of sound‑deadening material.

Ferrari stripped the Scuderia down to save weight and sharpen the experience, so you hear everything — every pebble pinging the underbody, every bit of drivetrain whine, every vibration through the chassis. It’s intentionally raw. The cabin is basically a thin shell wrapped around a very loud, very mechanical car.

The f430 is a more comfortable car .. you can drive it as a daily driver whereas the Scud is for those special drives

@SB675 I agree, I think a big part of that is the transmission. 360 and Challenge Stradale both have a slow single clutch, 458 and Speciale both have a fast dual clutch, but F430 has a slow single clutch and Scuderia has a fast single clutch, bigger transmission difference than all of them.

I’ve had a 430 and have Scuderia and they are very different cars. I believe the difference between these two cars is greater than it is in any of the other Ferrari V8 specials. Stradale, Speciale, and Pista.

The difference is more significant than simply the horsepower figures suggest because the Ferrari F430 and the Ferrari 430 Scuderia differ in both power and weight. The Scud has a 10% better power to weight ratio - not to mention sharper throttle mapping, revised suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes, and Ferrari’s F1-Trac software all contribute to the sensation that it’s a far more focused machine. Absolutely Raw!

@bryanpr1969 Even my 08 F430 if I pulled the paddle from 2nd to 3rd at 6,000 rpm would slam us back into the seats in sport mode. Must be more violent in race mode which I never used :-( These Scud's only have 20 more hp.

Regarding headlight spidering, there are various 'fixes' touted (heat gun, polishing the inside using a magnet, heating the unit to remove/refinish)... others replace with aftermarket. OEM is not cheap, but given the increasing value of these cars, that was my choice. Pair was $9200 for Carbon variant last year, plus installation.

For me the Scuderia is the most compelling of all the Ferrari V8 special track variants, and I wouldn’t be surprised if over time it becomes the most valuable.

Years ago I drove a 430 Scuderia and a 458 Italia (which was the new V8 model) back to back and what a contrast! The 430 Scud was so raw and exciting - gear shifts pushed you back in the seat. The 458 felt like a cruiser - albeit a fast one.

That front bumper on these really transforms these 430's into another car, just on looks alone. Really good looking car. GL

@Queuedcars - we don’t happen to have a receipt for the delete panel but they came in either black leather or black Alcantara. part number is 80403500 (Scuderia Radio Cover CPL Alcantara).

Won’t be surprised to this wind up in the $600s. Black maybe the best looking color for a fixed roof Scud. Low miles and clean with a market that is voracious… Great time to sell.

These below attached photos are from my inspection of the car prior to my clients acquisition. You can see the headlights were perfect at that time - as opposed to photos 36 & 37. Otherwise, other than mileage, this Scud remains exactly as it was upon acquisition.

Headlights don't look that bad. Maybe need to be inches away to notice anything.

Interesting on the headlights. I read in another auction to rebuild similar headlights with new CF etc was $4k. I think it was Murci.

@Queuedcars - Thanks for mentioning the belts. Slipped my mind. Those are in fact aftermarket yellow belts. Stick black belts accompany the car.

The headlight issues on these high end cars is interesting. I just had to have headlights lenses replaced on a 991.1 TTS - vendore recommended ppf on new lenses to help slow down. I have a 2014 Honda CRV daily driver -- headlights still perfect. You would think with advances in plastic chemistry they could do better? Woul be good to see closeups exactly where issues on healdights are and if fixable?

Headlights on Scuds get a spider-web type cracking/fissures from the CF housings degrading the inside of the headlight clearcoat. At least that's what I've been told

LOVE my Scud. The one car I will NEVER part with. Very nice to see them getting the appreciation they deserve, and I think they are still going up!

@seller are the yellow seatbelts factory? Don't see it listed on the window sticker, and can't say I've ever seen that on another.

@joesailor - I grew up with Dick Smiths 427 Cobra driving through town regularly and hitting every car show in the Central Valley. He’d leave the keys in the ignition in the parking lot of the airport for small private plates while he’d take his Cessna out for a lap. That was the cobra that hit 198 at Texas motor speedway. Fasted recorded Cobra.

Another gentleman from my hometown used to daily his F50 and Enzo. Still daily’s his 918. So some still use their toys. Thank God.

I remember this progression from cars that could be enjoyed and driven on nice days or to shows to becoming expensive to own and insure artwork. We had a local car dealer who owned a real 427 Shelby Cobra - it came out; now its never seen.
