3.2L-Powered 1977 Porsche 911S Coupe 5-Speed

This 1977 Porsche 911S has been comprehensively backdated and modified, headlined by a 3.2-liter flat-six conversion and a long-hood transformation of its mid-year body. Acquired by the current owner in 2021, it underwent an approximately two-year build by Automobile Associates of Canton, Connecticut, that included a repaint in Mexico Blue, ST-style steel fender flares, a sunroof delete, 15" Fuchs wheels with gold centers, and full-body paint protection film. Further upgrades include a rebuilt 5-speed manual transaxle, Motronic DME with a performance ECU, a Dansk sport muffler, stainless steel brake lines, enhanced cooling, adjustable struts and rear sway bar, sport seats re-trimmed in black vinyl with tartan inserts, a roll bar, a VDM steering wheel, and more. The car was fitted with a long-hood conversion, a sunroof-delete panel, and ST-style steel fender flares before being repainted Mexico Blue during the build. Fiberglass bumpers were installed along with black Porsche graphics, Hella driving lights, Euro-style taillights, and H4 headlights, and paint protection film has been applied to the entire body. The car rides on 15" Fuchs wheels with gold centers measuring 8" wide in front and 9" in the rear, mounted with Michelin TB15+ tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features a custom black vinyl interior with tartan cloth inserts, with the front sport seats re-trimmed to match and the rear seats deleted. The door panels were rebuilt, and modifications include a roll bar, Recaro seat sliders, a rebuilt glovebox, Coco mats, and a Bluetooth stereo with a dash-mounted speaker. A three-spoke VDM steering wheel frames the rebuilt and backdated VDO instrumentation. The five-digit odometer was reset to zero during the restoration and now indicates approximately 4k miles.
The 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six was installed under previous ownership and runs Motronic DME engine management that was rebuilt during the 2022–2023 work, along with a performance ECU and a Dansk sport muffler. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt with replacement synchro rings. The build also included drilled brake rotors, a replacement brake master cylinder, booster, calipers, and pads, stainless-steel brake lines, adjustable struts, and an adjustable rear sway bar. Additional equipment includes a 100-liter fuel tank, an oil cooler housed in the right front fender, an oil cooler adapter kit, a ceramic-coated cooling fan, a front-axle skid plate, fog lights, and an AGM battery installed in 2025. The chassis was cleaned using dry ice during the build.
This sale will include the owner's manual, a build book documenting the restoration, service records, and a clean title.

@nineteeneleven911 You are losing a potential buy here by not answering my question. I assume you are aware if the title is in the name of the owner you are consigning the car for, the buyer, if a Az Res., doesn't have to pay sales tax when Registering the car. If the owner signed title over to your dealership just say so. If that's the case then you are not actually consigning the car. I'm truly interested in the car but refuse to pay sales tax on a 6 digit used car.

@nineteeneleven911 Thank you for your response. I don't want to be repetitive but speaking for myself I can't bid on this car without knowing more details on the engine. Would suggest you do everything you can to get those details. When exactly was it rebuilt? How many miles on the rebuild? What parts were used? Appreciate they said it was built to 3.2 race spec but that can mean many things. Pictures of the rebuild nice for not necessary. To be clear this project likely was $300k or more and it could bring all the money but lacking those details isn't going to give you what your deserve . I sold a similar ST project on this forum a few years ago and I want one again.

@Nikojo Below is the information we have on the original car and the build. We are selling this for a good client of ours that had this built as a rally car. Our client hired Keith from Ennis Motorsports to oversee the build.
I am very pleased to be associated with this Porsche. The owner is a client and a friend. He hired me to manage this build from start to finish. We developed a plan and budget. He and his wife picked the colors. For the most part, he relied on me for everything else. I chose Automobile Associates to do the build as they have the experience and do everything in house and I know Scott. They are also a vintage Porsche race shop, which I like as that means they are problem solvers. Scott and I worked closely together and I visited the shop several times during the build to document it and to also make sure the details were right. Scott and his team are fantastic and I enjoy working with them.
The donor belonged to a very good friend of mine in New Hampshire. I knew the car for a number of years. It was a very straight and mostly original paint 1977 911S Coupe. Scott also knew the car as his shop maintained it. The motor had been previously rebuilt and is super strong. It was built to a 3.2 race spec. While I cannot prove it, it is stronger than 3.2. I have driven on road and track lots of air cooled 911’s and can tell when something has been breathed on. No doubt that this is a strong motor.
Upon completion of the build, the car was shipped to me in Jupiter, Florida where I put the first 500 miles on the car. There were a couple very minor items, all of which I addressed with Scott’s consultation. My sons and I did a couple videos of the car and also a video specifically for the owner. I also put together the book that documents the build.
The owner opted to not have a/c installed, but electric air conditioning could easily be added to the car. What I love about this 911 is that it has the right look, great motor, and so many good details. Yet it is comfortable and will not beat you up on long drives or tours. I have done Ramshorn three times, including the one that just concluded last week. This is an ideal car for that event or many others. I hope the new owner drives the car and that I see it out on the road!

@fj45truck If you are in Arizona, you will pay Arizona sales tax. If you are in another state and come in and drive it off the lot, then we collect Arizona sales tax. If you ship the vehicle with a license and bonded shipper then we will not collect sales tax, you will pay that when you register it in your state.

@EuroZ06 Photo 223 is a photo of the backseats striped to metal. You could probably add the rear seats back, but the roll bar would have to come out based on how it is mounted. This car does not have AC.
