Built as a GM-authorized continuation of Zora Arkus-Duntov’s legendary 1963 Corvette Grand Sport race car, this Superformance Corvette Grand Sport is finished in blue with a period-style livery and powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 engine paired with a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission. Built on a purpose-designed tubular steel chassis, it comes equipped with a dry-sump oiling system, custom ceramic-coated headers, stainless steel side-exit exhaust pipes, Vintage Air climate control, power windows and door locks, a tilt-adjustable steering column, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, adjustable front coilovers, an external differential cooler, and staggered American Racing wheels. Acquired by the current owner in 2026, this Superformance Grand Sport is now being offered for auction in Pennsylvania with approximately 2k miles showing on the odometer.

Conceived as a tribute to the original Corvette Grand Sport competition cars developed under the direction of Chevrolet chief engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, this Superformance Grand Sport faithfully recreates the appearance of the rare factory racers. This example is finished in blue with a white center stripe outlined in red and features #2 roundels on the hood, doors, and rear deck. The hand-laminated fiberglass body is mounted to a 4” tubular steel chassis and incorporates signature Grand Sport styling cues, including a vented hood, vented front fenders, headlamp covers, rear fender flare extensions, bullet-style mirrors, and an externally mounted rear differential cooler. Staggered 17” front and 18” rear American Racing Shelby Cobra-style wheels are mounted with Nitto NT555 tires measuring 255/50 and 305/40, respectively.

Installed in 2018, the supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 features a track-oriented dry-sump lubrication system and a custom EVAP breather setup. Factory-rated at 638 HP in the C6 Corvette ZR1, the LS9 is reported to produce approximately 635 HP in this application. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission and custom stainless-steel side-exit exhaust pipes fed by ceramic-coated headers. The suspension consists of tubular control arms with adjustable front coilovers, while the rear utilizes a C2 Corvette-style three-link arrangement with a transverse leaf spring and Bilstein dampers. Braking is handled by power-assisted Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes.

This sale will include a clean Pennsylvania title listing the car as a 1963 Chevrolet.

The seller would like you to know: “Corvette Grand Sport CGS0031 is one of the most exclusive sports cars on the road, and the story behind the limited series of Chevrolet road racers is simply incredible. In late 1962, Chevrolet chief engineer Zora Arkus Duntov planned to build a production run of 125 purpose-built Corvette racecars to compete in the GT class at Le Mans. The Chevrolet marketing department christened the sports car the "Grand Sport." After a test run of just five cars, GM cancelled the project and ordered them destroyed. Duntov hid the first two while Texans Alan Sevadjian, Delmo Johnson, and Jim Hall purchased the other three. Johnson piloted a Grand Sport in the 1965 Sebring race. You can own an authentic continuation version authorized and approved by GM of the spectacular Grand Sport racecar. Superformance CGS0031 is painted in a brilliant blue with period correct white pinstripes and #2 roundels, giving the sports car a high level of authenticity. Powered by a Chevy LS9 small block churning out 635HP, the V8 engine is mated to a Tremec T56 6-speed transmission. The LS9 features a track-ready dry sump setup along with a custom evap breather system. The car features a gorgeous black leather touring interior with air conditioning, power door locks, tilt steering wheel and power windows. Other options include 18 and 17-inch wheels, Nitto tires, and stainless-steel side pipes with custom ceramic-coated headers. CGS0031 is titled as a 1963 Chevrolet.”
