After 5 years: Have the tires inspected regularly by a qualified tire professional to determine whether they can continue in service. Inspection frequency should increase after the five-year mark.
At 10 years from the DOT manufacture date: Replace the tires regardless of remaining tread depth or apparent condition
@bd041556 - What you saw was the estimate, which included a recommended tire replacement. The tires are actually in excellent condition and remain well within the DOT's 10-year guideline, so the client elected to defer replacing them at this time.
