1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible 327 3-Speed
Presentation
Marking the final year of the second-generation Corvette, this 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible was originally sold through O’Connor Chevrolet of Rochester, New York, and is one of only 815 examples finished in Tuxedo Black for the model year, with even fewer equipped with a red vinyl interior. Factory-equipped without a radio, it features a 327ci V8 engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, a cabin heater, and 15” Rally wheels. Benefitting from a multi-year body-off restoration completed in 2020 to Bloomington and NCRS show-quality standards, this Corvette is now being offered for auction in New Jersey.
During the restoration, the fiberglass body was removed from the chassis and refinished in its factory-correct Tuxedo Black (900) paint color. Exterior equipment includes retractable headlights, split chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, a replacement black convertible soft top, vented front fenders, and integrated dual exhaust outlets. The car rides on 15” Rally wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps mounted with new tires. The seller notes that all original body panels have been retained along with the factory trim tags and an NCRS-verified tank sticker. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin has been restored with correct red vinyl upholstery and matching carpets. Interior appointments include bucket seats, lap belts, a non-radio center console, a three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel, rubber floor mats, a cabin heater, and an analog clock.
The numbers-matching 327ci V8 engine is equipped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and was factory-rated at 300 HP and 360 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed manual transmission and a 3.36:1 rear differential. The seller states that the car retains its original drivetrain, and photos of the corresponding case stampings are included in the gallery.
The seller would like you to know: “1967 Corvette Convertible, VIN # 194677S120419. Super rare Tuxedo Black (815 produced) and even rarer with red original interior, factory original body/trim tag, and radio delete. Documented with the validated tank sticker. NCRS SDR showing production date of June 8th, 1967, and delivered new by O'Connor Chevrolet, Rochester, NY (dealer code 482, Zone 12). 327-300 hp, 3-speed, numbers-matching original motor, transmission, and rear end. All original body panels, professional body-off restoration, according to Bloomington and NCRS show quality standards. This restored Corvette has not been used since the completion of restoration, creating an exciting opportunity for the next owner to exhibit the car and compete for trophies, awards, and recognition. Thanks for viewing this rare example of automotive history. We’re here to answer any of your questions.”

It is interesting to watch the bidding activity on this auction. With four days still remaining, the price has already been pushed significantly higher, including several large jumps of $25,000 at a time. It almost gives the impression that friends, family members, or highly motivated parties are bidding early to generate momentum and create excitement around the sale. Regardless, it will be interesting to see whether the bidding continues at this pace as the auction approaches its final hours, when the most serious buyers typically enter the competition.

Beautiful Corvette. I noticed that the ignition shielding is missing. Do you have the chrome shielding that came from the factory? Thank you and GLWTA>

@Hoglover Oooh, now I get it. You believe that a 1967 Black/Red Fully Restored Corvette with close to 200k of restoration receipts, with tank sticker is worth 50k, understood! Please ignore my previous message…. Carry on!

@capitallic, A common misconception is that large bidding jumps automatically mean something unusual is happening.
Auction bid increments are typically tied to the current bid amount. On a $40,000–$80,000 collector car, you often see increments of $500, $1,000, $2,500, or $5,000. Once a car reaches six figures, increments naturally increase. On seven-figure cars, $10,000, $25,000, $50,000, and even $100,000 increments are completely normal.
Look at the recent Mecum Kissimmee 2026 results. The auction generated over $441 million in sales, with 54 vehicles selling for more than $1 million. The headline 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO sold for $38.5 million. During that bidding process, increments reached $500,000 and even $1 million as the bidding advanced. That is standard auction practice at those price levels, not evidence of anything improper.
What matters is not the size of the increment but whether qualified bidders continue participating. A $25,000 jump on a $500,000–$1,000,000 car represents a relatively small percentage of the total value. By comparison, on a $50,000 Corvette, a $2,500 increment represents a similar percentage move.
The broader trend from Mecum Kissimmee 2026 showed strong demand for rare, documented, and numbers-matching collector cars, with multiple model records being set and several vehicles exceeding expectations. Corvettes, Ferraris, GT40s, Cobras, and other blue-chip collector cars all attracted significant bidder interest throughout the event.
In short, a $25,000 bid increase sounds dramatic, but in the context of a high-dollar collector-car auction, it is often just a normal bidding increment relative to the vehicle's value. Best to all bidders,

This is exactly what a collectible 1967 Corvette should be. Tuxedo Black, red interior, numbers-matching drivetrain, documented history, and a restoration completed to a very high standard. The black/red combination gives this car incredible presence, and the rarity of only 815 black convertibles produced makes it even more special. Cars like this are no longer just classic Corvettes—they are rolling pieces of American automotive history. Best of luck to the seller and future owner.

@Hoglover i was going back and forth about either addressing your comment or just letting it go, because I realize that bidders that are genuinely interested in a car, usually would ask a question or bid, whichever! In these types of cases, we all understand that the comment probably comes from someone that not only never purchased a car through an auction such as this one, but probably never even placed a bid!
In a reserve auction, there’s not much logic in trying to ‘create momentum’ by bidding it up early. The reserve is already established, and early bidding doesn’t change it. We’ll find out what the market is willing to pay when the auction closes.
Now, to our defense in the past few months we’ve SOLD every automobile that we listed, every single one! Which probably means that we price the reserve with where the market is.
I would encourage you to contact Pcar and some of our buyers to see what they have to say both about us and the quality of cars we list.
Dont get me wrong, we really do appreciate you watching!

I also noticed that the aggressive bidder @avanti911,” who was placing large $25,000 increments early in the auction 6 days ago has mysteriously disappeared from the platform.
Meanwhile, @sthein and @filmore895 remained active through the competitive bidding, but ultimately chose not to exceed the softening current market value.
I wish all sellers on this platform the best of luck, and I hope the winning bidder is able to secure the vehicle at their highest offer.
