@Hoglover Oooh, now I get it. You believe that a 1967 Black/Red Fully Restored Corvette with close to 200k of restoration receipts, with tank sticker is worth 50k, understood! Please ignore my previous message…. Carry on!
@Hoglover i was going back and forth about either addressing your comment or just letting it go, because I realize that bidders that are genuinely interested in a car, usually would ask a question or bid, whichever! In these types of cases, we all understand that the comment probably comes from someone that not only never purchased a car through an auction such as this one, but probably never even placed a bid!
In a reserve auction, there’s not much logic in trying to ‘create momentum’ by bidding it up early. The reserve is already established, and early bidding doesn’t change it. We’ll find out what the market is willing to pay when the auction closes.
Now, to our defense in the past few months we’ve SOLD every automobile that we listed, every single one! Which probably means that we price the reserve with where the market is.
I would encourage you to contact Pcar and some of our buyers to see what they have to say both about us and the quality of cars we list.
