RoW 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed
Presentation
This 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 is a Japanese-market coupe that was specified new without a sunroof, and it was imported to the US in 2026. Modifications under previous ownership included deleting the catalytic converters, air conditioning, and stereo, along with installing a revised engine management chip and brakes, a lightweight flywheel, an FD Motorsport Golden Rod, coilover suspension, 17″ Cup I-style wheels, blue front seatbelts, a MOMO steering wheel, and RS-style front cooling ducts. Powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, the car is finished in Grand Prix White over black leather upholstery. Acquired by the seller in 2026, this 964 C2 coupe shows 84k kilometers (~52k miles) and is now offered in California with manufacturer’s literature, a build sheet, and a clean Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC.
The slicktop body is finished in Grand Prix White, and exterior details include a speed-activated rear spoiler, RS-style front cooling ducts, amber side markers, H4 headlights, headlight washers, a rear window wiper, and heated and power-adjustable side mirrors. The rear model designation lettering has been removed, and the seller tells us that the hood and engine cover struts have been replaced. Photos of paint meter readings are shown in the gallery below.
The car rides on a revised and lowered suspension with RD coilovers and Swift springs. The braking system has been revised with larger red Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors up front and braided stainless-steel brake hoses, and 993-specification brake components are said to have been installed out back. The seller tells us that the 17″ Cup I-style wheels were produced in Italy, and traction is provided by staggered-width Continental ExtremeContact tires that show 2025 production codes. The rear spring plate bushings would benefit from replacement, per the seller.
The power-adjustable front bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, and door panels. A blanking plate has been installed in place of the stereo head unit, blue front seatbelts have been installed, and additional appointments include power windows, a brushed-finish dead pedal, and Porsche-branded floor mats.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 300-km/h speedometer, a Quarz analog clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 84k kilometers (~52k miles), approximately 500 kilometers (~310 miles) of which were added under current ownership.
The air-cooled 3.6L M64 flat-six has been modified with a revised engine management chip and an aftermarket air cleaner, and the catalytic converters and air conditioning compressor have been deleted. Oil seepage is noted from the left-side valve cover. Dynamometer results are shown in the photo gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. The seller tells us that a lightweight flywheel and high-performance clutch have been installed, along with an FD Motorsport Golden Rod and replacement shifter bushings.

@cycgroup_rwbla - what a great looking 964! Very nice…👍🏼
I’m looking at “Cold Start Video” at 0.19 frame and it appears the oil temp gauge reads warm…
Your return comment much appreciated.

Those seeking a 35 yr plus 964 without paint work might find a three winged unicorn first and are not informed about what they seek.
I have the original MIZWA sticker, rear wiper, flag mirrors, manhole cover 16” wheels Japanese manuals & service records in Japanese.
Watch the 964 market - it’s moving in the right direction. I own 98’ c2s with factory aero & 25k miles. Bought it from Canepa 4 yrs ago for 280k - it’s on the same trajectory. The “informed experts” can lament later.

Also @edinphx - The high and low hoses in the engine bay for the AC are deleted, but it's very unlikely they removed the balance of the system. The remaining lines, condenser, dryer, blower, etc., are all buried pretty far in the driver's side and front "suitcase" of the car. Seller could confirm by peeking behind driver's side front fender liner / removing suitcase plastic cover in frunk. Likely very easy to add back. As is the catalytic converter, albeit expensive new. Plenty of used parts out there.

@BevinK thanks for the kind words! 964 absolutely are, it was hard for us to let this one go being so clean and well kept with all the seals still soft and paint being original from the paint meter measurements either than the deck a little thicker. Hard to have it all when I also have a guards red fully built 93 and a RWB 3.8

Minty went for 205k last week. I own a 90’ unmolested MIZWA spec, color etc. love that 964s are meteoric these days. Go try & buy parts. Singer cornered the spares as well.
Expect the seller will do well in spite of the mods.

As @jreifler mentioned, the car was being built to a RS tribute prior to gain some performance gained but also well kept when we inquired the vehicle.

@edinphx
Those are both common performance / weight saving mods on these cars. Prior owner has modded this car towards RS spec.

When and why were the AC compressor and cats removed? Is the rest of the AC system intact? Do you have the removed cats and compressor?
