35-Years-Owned 1964 Porsche 356C 1600 Coupe
Presentation
The final evolution of Porsche's original sports car, the 356C was introduced for the 1964 model year with four-wheel disc brakes, a refined suspension, and reinforced synchronizer rings for its 4-speed manual gearbox. Finished in Silver Metallic over a red leather interior, this 1964 356C 1600 Coupe has been owned and maintained by the same caretaker for 35 years and is said to have been kept in a temperature-controlled garage. This 356C is now being offered for auction in New York.
Finished in Silver Metallic, this 356C features a twin-grille engine decklid, chrome bumpers with integrated rear exhaust outlets, a polished driver's side mirror, gold model lettering, and pop-out rear quarter windows. It rides on 15" Fuchs wheels with colored Porsche-crested center caps. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin is trimmed in red leather complemented by a body-color dashboard. Accessories include a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, folding rear seatbacks, front lap belts, manual window cranks, black rubber floor mats, analog VDO gauges, a quartz clock, a heater, and a locking glovebox. The seller reports that all gauges and accessories are fully functional.
The air-cooled 1,582cc flat-four breathes through dual Zenith carburetors and produces up to 75 HP, driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transaxle. The 356C features four-wheel independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. The seller reports that the car has been maintained throughout their 35-year ownership.
This sale will include a New York registration, a car cover, and a spare tire.
