27-Years-Owned, LS2-Powered 1951 Ford Country Squire Woodie Wagon

This 1951 Ford Country Squire is a two-door “woodie” station wagon that is believed to have been sold new in Washington State. It was purchased by the current owner in 1999, and reportedly underwent a multi-year build by Rob Hackman of Hackman Hotrods in St. Bomonte, California, that was completed in 2018. The car is finished in House of Kolor Sunset Pearl with custom birdseye maple and African strip-ply striped wood paneling, and power comes from a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 mated to a 4L60 four-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9″ rear end. It rides on 17″ Centerline wheels and a lowered suspension with a Mustang II-style setup, Aldan American coilovers, and power-assisted front disc brakes. Ceramic-coated headers are linked to a dual exhaust system, and upgraded cooling components were also fitted. Inside, three rows of bench seating are trimmed in tan leather upholstery, and amenities include power windows, air conditioning, a custom AM/FM stereo, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a tilt steering column. This custom Country Squire is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a California title in the owner’s name.

The body was refinished in House of Kolor Sunset Pearl during the build before custom birdseye Madrone and African Stingray striped wood paneling was installed. The brightwork was also replated at that time.
The 17″ Centerline wheels are mounted with 245/40 front and 275/40 rear BFGoodrich g-Force tires. The suspension was lowered during the build, and the front end is equipped with a Mustang II-style setup with tubular control arms, Aldan American coilovers, and power-assisted front discs.
The cabin features three rows bench seats trimmed in tan leather along with a color-coordinated headliner and carpets. Exposed wood is fitted on the door and side panels, while the steel dashboard and window trim wear a woodgrain finish. Amenities include power windows, air conditioning, a custom AM/FM stereo, and aluminum pedals. A pair of Kenwood speakers is mounted beneath the front bench.
The driver is provided a wood-rimmed three-spoke Nardi steering wheel, a Flaming River tilt steering column, and a Dakota Digital instrument cluster. The digital odometer indicates 3,300 miles driven since the completion of the build. The horn and dome light are disconnected.
The 6.0-liter LS2 V8 is reportedly a crate unit that was installed in 2005, and it features body-color covers with woodgrain accents. The aluminum radiator is cooled by dual electric cooling fans. A replacement battery was installed in 2026.

@rickonthebeach As for the engine, it's estimated at around 400 horsepower at the crank. We don't have a chassis dyno sheet, so I can't provide an exact wheel horsepower figure, but it should be in the mid-300 whp range, which makes for plenty of fun behind the wheel.

Good drive video, shows it road worthiness. Is that your Grandson(?), he needs to be driving from the young person aspect, kool he's with you. I always good to see young people involved, I give special attention to that when I'm out with a special vehicle.
