@Dethmerc sounds like the operation that killed that job was the enclosed Transport from Coast to Coast, then the additional trip to the top of Scotland,I shipped a car from Oakland directly to Felixstowe, we delivered the car to the port personally there by saving thousands of dollars.
For the actual crossing at $4000 is reasonable, then add on Import duty, insurance etc still means it’s not an unreasonable operation from USA to UK and vice versa.
All you people wanting quotes for shipping, the best company in the UK is Kingstown Shipping, I specialise in both ways UK to USA and vice versa. And the cost is nowhere near 12k unless costs have tripled in the last 3 years
