Fuel-Injected, 331-Powered 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback 5-Speed

This 1966 Ford Mustang fastback was refurbished and modified by Barry’s Speed shop, Corona, California, before it was exported to the UK and purchased by the selling dealer in 2023. The car is finished in Wimbledon White with painted blue stripes, and it is powered by a 331ci stroker V8 with Trick Flow aluminum intake manifold and heads as well as Borla eight-stack fuel injection. The engine is linked to a Tremec T5 five-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9″ rear end with a 3.50 limited-slip differential, and the custom stainless-steel dual exhaust system features headers. It rides on 18″ multi-piece center-lock wheels with Chris Alston’s Chassisworks suspension components, power rack-and-pinion steering, and Baer disc brakes, and additional equipment includes a hood scoop, a GT-style rear valance, an R-style front valance, and quarter panel windows. Inside, the SCAT bucket seats, rear bucket seats, and door panels are trimmed in black and blue leather, and amenities include a custom roll bar, power windows, air conditioning, and a Custom Autosound stereo. This modified Mustang is now offered in the United Kingdom with a copy of the superseded California title and a UK V5C registration document.
The body was repainted in its factory Wimbledon White (M), and outfitted with blue painted stripes, replacement glass, and LED halo headlights during the build. A hood with locking pins and a scoop was added along with an R-style front valance, side scoops, quarter windows, and a GT-style rear valance with dual exhaust exits integrated into it. The provided photos were taken between 2022 and 2024, and it has been primarily stored since.
Suspension components were sourced from Chris Alston’s Chassisworks and they include an independent front setup with upper and lower control arms and a cantilver rear setup with coilovers and Heim joints all around. The car is also equipped with power rack-and-pinion steering, and stopping is handled by Baer brakes over slotted and cross-drilled calipers.Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec T5 5-speed manual transmission, a steel driveshaft, and a Currie 9″ rear end with a limited-slip differential and 3.50:1 gears. The stainless-steel exhaust system features tubular headers, 2.5″ piping, and Borla Pro XS mufflers. A replacement fuel tank was also installed during the build, and it is paired with an in-tank pump and stainless steel lines.
The 18″ centerlock wheels feature black centers with chrome rims and Halibrand three-eared hubs, and they are mounted with Hankook Ventus V2 Evo 2 tires.
The SCAT front seats, rear bench, and door panels were upholstered in two-tone perforated leather by Frank’s Hot Rods of Temecula, California, and custom black leather upholstery extends to the trunk. Gray square-weave carpets sourced from Germany line the floors, and amenities include a custom roll bar, power windows, air conditioning, a Custom Autosound stereo, a custom floor shifter, a battery isolator switch, and drilled aluminum pedals.
The Billet Specialties steering wheel is mounted on an Ididit tilt column ahead of AutoMeter instrumentation, including an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer shows 19k miles since the completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown.

@Dethmerc sounds like the operation that killed that job was the enclosed Transport from Coast to Coast, then the additional trip to the top of Scotland,I shipped a car from Oakland directly to Felixstowe, we delivered the car to the port personally there by saving thousands of dollars.
For the actual crossing at $4000 is reasonable, then add on Import duty, insurance etc still means it’s not an unreasonable operation from USA to UK and vice versa.

A video has now been uploaded of the vehicle, which should hopefully give you more insight. This has been under our ownership for around 3 years, and has been dry stored during that time, with only light summer usage. It will be making way for something else moving forward.

@Echobase having just shipped one to the U.K. in the last 3 months...it has. Just look at enclosed trailer transport costs from west coast to east coast (that journey for me was $3,500USD) then the actual cost for crossing the pond (4,000GBP) enclosed transport cost to mot center, associated fees, and enclosed transport cost to final destination, which was North Scotland...So that had extra costs due to geographic location. But that's why I said "budget" 12k...you will find cheaper, open truck transport but fuel costs add up quick regardless...just depends on where ya live. My buddy shipped a car that was in L.A. to his home in Dubai for $8,500USD so hardly any trucking fees due to proximity to ports.

I just shipped a 66 fastback to Scotland from North Idaho. It took 7 days to get to port in Jersey where it sat for over a week (missed the boat it was scheduled to be on because the folks in charge of the shipping couldn't find the bill of sale, which was in a clear plastic document holder and on the passenger seat...which is precisely where they instructed me to put it) so after it finally got loaded into the shipping container it took 20 days of sailing to Southampton then loaded onto a truck and driven to Northampton to customs/mot center, where is sat for another four weeks while they bickered over the lack of amber in the tailights. So be prepared to sweat out the anxiety of waiting for your classic to arrive and budget about 12 grand (was $3500 enclosed shipping from Idaho to N.J.) GBP is 1.34 to 1.00 USD currently, fluctuates daily.
