@Echobase having just shipped one to the U.K. in the last 3 months...it has. Just look at enclosed trailer transport costs from west coast to east coast (that journey for me was $3,500USD) then the actual cost for crossing the pond (4,000GBP) enclosed transport cost to mot center, associated fees, and enclosed transport cost to final destination, which was North Scotland...So that had extra costs due to geographic location. But that's why I said "budget" 12k...you will find cheaper, open truck transport but fuel costs add up quick regardless...just depends on where ya live. My buddy shipped a car that was in L.A. to his home in Dubai for $8,500USD so hardly any trucking fees due to proximity to ports.
I just shipped a 66 fastback to Scotland from North Idaho. It took 7 days to get to port in Jersey where it sat for over a week (missed the boat it was scheduled to be on because the folks in charge of the shipping couldn't find the bill of sale, which was in a clear plastic document holder and on the passenger seat...which is precisely where they instructed me to put it) so after it finally got loaded into the shipping container it took 20 days of sailing to Southampton then loaded onto a truck and driven to Northampton to customs/mot center, where is sat for another four weeks while they bickered over the lack of amber in the tailights. So be prepared to sweat out the anxiety of waiting for your classic to arrive and budget about 12 grand (was $3500 enclosed shipping from Idaho to N.J.) GBP is 1.34 to 1.00 USD currently, fluctuates daily.
