Correct. Green is a normal color of the shroud for a Model E. When this car underwent a color change, some trim highlighted with headlight bezels, rearview mirrors, and the engine shroud was paint-matched.
Transmissions used up to 1972 were considerably different than those used from 72 onward. The two types can be easily distinguished; the early type had the reverse gear at the forward left position while the later type had the reverse gear at the rear right position.
Second, third, fourth, and fifth in the five-speed are equivalent to first, second, third, and fourth in the four-speed.
@Upshift4 In 1972, the 10-digit VIN did not specify Transmission type; instead, it gave you the model/engine variant, which determined the Transmission options that were available. In 72, that included a four-speed, a five-speed, and a sport automatic; a sport automatic was a three-speed. There were two versions of the four-speed and five-speed, late and early.
