RNM. No surprise here! The (original) black 1964 DB5 Volante that sold here last month brought $1,350,000. Of course it had a better (and original) interior colour (terracotta) and superior presentation, but the gap here is surprising.
Truly a drool-worthy car. Not a fan of the rather somber all-black livery (according to the Heritage Certificate, it was originally platinum, not white). That subtle light metallic over red interior would be stunning, but to each their own.
I often chuckle at sellers on here and other sites who attempt to cover up their car's license plate (often inadvertently allowing a few uncovered plates to slip through as in this example, undermining the whole effort). What's silly about that exercise is, do they also cover the plates while on the road, or in a carpark, where all the public can see them? And revealing the more important VIN is potentially more critical (if it were in any degree) than a changeable plate. Pointless indeed.
That said, this is a car that evokes lust in the Castrol-pumping heart of any true petrolhead, myself included. While well above my paygrade, I fantasize about selling almost everything I own to purchase such a sublime voiturette.
As @Todd00000 said earlier, I can't believe there's not a '1' in front of that first digit. The current conversion rate is $1.16 to the Euro, so not too hard to calculate. I believe "they're" out there, however, patiently hiding in the shadows, ready to pounce on those keyboards come the final two minutes!
