Hello everyone !

We're heading into the final hours of this auction! Thank you to everyone who's followed along, asked questions, and shared their knowledge of this car — it's been genuinely appreciated.

Worth reiterating for anyone still weighing this one: this is a rare chance to own one of only 123 DB5 convertibles built, and one of just 38 in left-hand drive — a genuinely usable, drivable example rather than a static collector's piece tucked away.

On that note, the mechanical side is a real strength here: the straight-six was fully overhauled, bringing displacement to 4.2 liters with new pistons, connecting rods, and bearings — paired with the ZF five-speed manual and limited-slip differential, all working exactly as they should. Aesthetically and structurally, the car is in excellent condition.

We all know the market is evolving, but we believe this car is worth a bit more — it deserves to return to the US, or to find its way into a nice collection!

If there are any remaining questions on the car, transport, taxes, or anything else before bidding closes, now's the time — happy to answer as quickly as possible.

Hello @300-SL and @billyblyth ! Thank you both very much for your comments, very relevant questions!

Yes, this DB5 was indeed restored — the body was fully stripped, and the restoration was carried out to Bacchelli & Villa standards, under the supervision of a well-regarded workshop in France. As for the body panels, we don't currently have any precise information on whether they were replaced.

Today, the result speaks for itself: the underbody, sills, body panels, interior, and exterior are all in absolutely superb condition. There's no sign of galvanic corrosion between the metals — no bubbling, no staining on either side — this was checked thoroughly, including inside the door jambs, and everything is spotless.

Feel free to check out photos 125 to 139 in the listing, which document this work.

Cold starts perfectly, settles into a smooth, even idle, and pulls cleanly through the gears without hesitation. The handling is beautifully balanced — precise, composed, and utterly reassuring on the road. A DB5 that drives exactly as she should, ready and waiting for her next custodian.

Hi @GGC51, thanks for reaching out and no worries at all, importing a car from across the Atlantic can definitely feel a bit daunting at first, but it's actually a very well-established process, and we're here to make it smooth for you every step of the way!

As mentioned in our previous comment, our administrative team will fully support you throughout the process, managing all the paperwork needed to complete the sale so everything stays hassle-free on your end.

For transport, we work regularly with a trusted shipping company for vehicles we send in the US. You can expect the shipping to take about 4 to 5 weeks, with a cost of around $10,000 for the East Coast (slightly more for the West Coast).

As for import duty, the good news is it currently sits at just 10% for a UK-origin vehicle — a pretty favorable rate!

Feel free to reach out to us directly anytime if you'd like a more detailed quote. We're happy to walk you through everything.

By the way, the car was delivered new in the US, it would be wonderful for this beautiful piece of history to return to its origins!

Hi @Wsby and @DrPhos , since July 24, 2026, Section 122 has been replaced by Section 301, which lowered the total import duty rate for European and British products from 12.5% to 10%.

@Jtsonn19495 Absolutely, the car is stunning!

The slight evolution from 4.0 to 4.2 comes from an engine rebore, carried out to improve driveability and performance. This is regularly done on DB4, DB5, and DB6 models. The original block was retained, so the car's authenticity remains fully intact.

Regarding the colour: the original configuration — white with a burgundy interior — was less appealing. It was therefore decided to re-trim in Triple Black as part of a restoration carried out to a very high standard.
