The 8C Competizione was introduced at the 2006 Paris Motor Show and marked the nameplate’s return to the US market after a 13-year absence, reviving the name originally used for Alfa Romeo’s eight-cylinder racing cars of the 1930s. Styling cues from the company’s post-war sporting cars can be seen in the carbon-fiber body panels, which are supported by a steel space frame.

This example is finished in Nero and features bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets. The front splitter has blemishes, and the trunk lid struts were replaced in January 2024.

Silver-finished 20″ five-loop clover alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, the front two of which were installed in September 2023, approximately 400 miles ago. Stopping power is provided by Alfa Romeo-branded Brembo calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors were replaced in March 2024, and the brake fluid was flushed in March 2025.

Twin carbon-fiber sport bucket seats are trimmed in Nero leather, and matching upholstery extends to the door panels. The dashboard and center console feature brushed aluminum and carbon-fiber trim, and amenities include a Becker CD stereo, cruise control, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Interior options include a leather headliner and handle.

As we come down to the last 30 mins of our Alfa Romeo 8C auction, please reach out with any last minute questions via the contact seller button above or toss in the comments. It's a good idea to refresh your browser as well before getting to the last minutes.
I'll be here to assist with the final paperwork and if transportation is needed, happy to recommend some companies we often use.
This 8C example is outstanding, being the Nero over Nero, matching luggage as well as books and manuals. A rare car with only 500 made and out of that only 90 came to the US - a great opportunity to buy this Alfa with that naturally aspirated Ferrari/Maserati V8.
When the timer ticks down to under 2 mins and a new bid comes it, the timer will reset back to 2 mins to prevent last second sniper bids.

I’ve owned one of these for years and it’s never lost its appeal — an enjoyable car to drive, and the sound is amazing. It still brings a smile to my face every time. Whoever wins this is getting a great car.

Agree with you @MikeFiftyNine and from the comments below, many feel the same way.. a rare car and a work of art. Those lines, curves and entire design of the 8C will always catch our eyes and start conversations at a cars & coffee to the petrol station. It's a nice reminder that Alfa Romeo has a rich history in the world of motorsports.

Nice to see an Alfa Romeo get some love on the bids. Beautiful 8C Comp and rare in the US.
I always liked Alfa Romeo. They are rarely seen where I live. When I stop at red light I swear 5 out 10 cars are Teslas or trucks. So when I see an Alfa Romeo driving or in a parking lot I will take a second look. Love the design of their models.
And me being mostly Italian with some German and English mixed in, I love all things Italian. My grandparents would mostly speak in Italian to each other when I was younger.
The brand to me seems more of a European car or one that would be seen in Europe more often than in the US. Just because I rarely see one.
Great looking car, and I bet it's quick and handles good.
GLWTA!!

Cold start and views of the 8C.
Aug 12, 2026 · 03:37
Alfa Romeo did not pull the 8C Competizione out of thin air. And, for the record, the “Competizione” part of its name was merely to evoke the marque’s rich racing history, not recreate it. The 8C was a front engine GT in the spirit of the great Ferrari and Maserati coupes of the 1950s and 1960s.

On the back of what so many have been saying below, I had a call on Friday from the dealer who supplied mine to offer $450k for it (I am not selling) so I am assuming they already had the new buyer ready... at $500k ish? Didn't sound like would have been going into inventory
Aug 9, 2026 · 03:28
In a world where a decently specced recent 911 GTS is $250k+ and a F430 is now $300k… and 458 is $450k…these are completely slept on. Beauty that is only eclipsed by how it sounds… hyper rare… more emotion than a modern super car could even dream of. If these become $500k cars soon - it wouldn’t be at all absurd. It would be a reflection of how incredibly unique and special this car is. Whoever buys this - chapeau - you have exquisite taste.

The 8C Competizione was designed by Wolfgang Egger and Daniele Gaglione at Centro Stile Alfa Romeo in Turin. Drawing deliberately on Alfa's post-war golden era, the duo created a silhouette that felt both timeless and entirely new, long hood, short overhangs, and carbon-fiber bodywork that referenced decades of Italian coachbuilding tradition. The design won first prize at Villa d'Este in 2004, and when the production version was unveiled at the 2006 Paris Motor Show it generated over 1,400 orders within weeks. Daniele Gaglione later reflected that working on the 8C was the best period of his professional life.
Aug 8, 2026 · 23:03
Well said about the brand
Aug 8, 2026 · 22:57
While I agree with most comments on the collectibility and inflation etc. I don’t see this car becoming half million plus very soon. I think people are starting to realize we are in a car market bubble now, and Alfa Romeo just doesn’t have the brand name like Ferrari to boost buyer confidence. Especially for NA Alfa is a niche brand with relatively smaller buyer pool, you’d need real number of avid Alfa fans to drive the market which I doubt there is.
It’s just sad that alfa (and Maserati) is shadowed by Ferrari since Fiat era, so much potential for these so beautiful cars, but they were forced to do sub par vehicles to leave room for high luxury segment because bettering Ferrari is almost politically incorrect now
Aug 8, 2026 · 22:32
And inflation from 3/19 to today is 30% so that accounts for $90k. And then again the S & P was 2800 7 years ago !!!! Holy cow.
Aug 8, 2026 · 22:28
Again, I agree. I sold my red 500mile via RM 7 years ago for low 300s which was market. I had owned it for 3-4 years waiting for some appreciation. I guess it takes a frothy market like we are in to drive this and other similar cars to new levels. Can’t wait to see o real Monterey results !!!
Aug 8, 2026 · 22:15
Absolutely beautiful.
This is a sure thing as a future collectible. limited production, Maserati V8 and peak 2000’s styling. Doesn’t get much better!

Well, Offcine Fioravanti out of Italy has solved that issue with a manual gearbox upgrade - check it out:

The market for these in the US has really changed (like everything) in the last 6 months - know of two privately brokered sales of $500k for 6k / 5k mile examples within the last 8 weeks. When you compare to what the alternatives are even at $500k...this is a very elegant , rare car that is only heading up from now. With today's asks on 458 Italias this is another level of exclusivity. Finally got the attention they deserve - good luck to seller.

I think "flagging" is fine - just wish the comments would remain.
And - I appreciate that the comment from Mr. @billyblyth is "full" enough that we can read between the lines to surmise what was flagged.
Thank you very much - ShineOn YCD's
BTW - Alfa Romeo has produced some of Italy's most remarkable, beautiful, and alluring designs in their 116 year legacy. Admittedly, I am partial, as an owner/driver of a 1967 Duetto.

RE: Overrated.
If you want to reduce an Italian car to a data sheet of performance specs and driving characteristics, basically the 'literal" aspects, you're missing the point. You are probably correct on the data sheet items, but there is more to the picture. Just look at the comments so far. They focus on the beauty of the car, the sound of the car and how it makes them feel. Sort of like looking at a painting that draws you in and evokes emotions and senses.
I see you have an interest in Mercedes cars, which explains a lot. I totally get it if you're not into cars like this one. But, the things that others appreciate are important to them. The Mercedes may be like the girl you marry, but this one is the one you spent that weekend with that still stirs your soul and can never be forgotten... GLWTA!

Nice current bid, matching the original window sticker. There are not enough of these around. Zero where I Iive. Shoot, I can't even find the Hot Wheels version of an 8C. Outstanding combination of beauty and brawn by Alfa Romeo

Beautiful spec. Nero over Nero really emphasizes the curves without distracting from the design.

@lottacars
I couldn’t agree more. If 430 scuds are touching the 700k range, this car should be nothing short of 500k. The noises and fun it provides is truly unmatched. I could be wrong about my numbers but less than 90 8c’s made it to the United States and even fewer of those were convertibles. I highly recommend if you get the chance drive one!
