20k-Mile 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet 6-Speed
Presentation
Featuring a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transaxle, this 2004 Porsche 996 Turbo Cabriolet is finished in a metallic green-colored paint protection film over its factory Midnight Blue Metallic paintwork. It features a custom black and green Nappa leather interior and has been upgraded with a TechArt front lip spoiler, carbon fiber exterior accents, a custom carbon fiber-trimmed steering wheel, a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) touchscreen head unit, 19” EMX wheels, a KW suspension lift system, two-piece slotted brake rotors, and a Fabspeed performance exhaust. This Turbo Cabriolet is now being offered in New York with approximately 20k miles showing on the odometer. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.
The exterior is covered in a metallic green-colored paint protection film over its original Midnight Blue Metallic finish. Equipment includes a power-operated black convertible soft top, a carbon fiber TechArt front lip spoiler, carbon fiber mirror housings and side air intake surrounds, 997-style taillights, rear bumper side fins, a speed-activated carbon fiber rear wing, black quad exhaust outlets, and bright green-painted brake calipers. The car rides on bronze-finished 19” EMX wheels wrapped in Continental tires that were installed within the last 100 miles.
The cabin has been extensively customized with black and green Nappa leather seats featuring Porsche-crested headrests, along with matching green leather trim on the center console, door handles, armrests, shifter, and handbrake lever. Additional appointments include an Alcantara-trimmed center console storage lid signed by Sunny Wong with deviated stitching and an embossed Porsche crest, a custom carbon fiber-trimmed three-spoke steering wheel, carbon fiber interior accents, a yellow-faced central tachometer, Numeric pedal covers, automatic climate control, cruise control, central locking, a Bose sound system, and a Porsche Classic (PCCM) touchscreen infotainment system.
Factory-rated at 415 HP and 415 lb-ft of torque, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six sends power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Braking is facilitated by fixed 4-piston calipers paired with upgraded two-piece slotted rotors, while a KW suspension lift system has been installed to enhance ground clearance and drivability. CARFAX records show 19 service history entries, including the replacement of spark plugs, a serpentine belt, and an air filter, along with brake, differential, and transmission fluid services completed in 2024 at 19,244 miles.
This sale will include owner's manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I don't really want to sell it since I treat it like my baby and I like old Porsche classics, but since I have a few toys and they are all manual, my wife keeps complaining she can't drive it, so she is forcing me to sell it and get an automatic for her.”

Do you have a DME with over revs? Also, does the front axle lift system still work? Any idea when it was installed and can you post a video of it in action? How is the paint under the wrap?

@condor303 what's DME? Front lift system is brand new less than 1 year old, ill show you a video when I'm off on Thurs and paint under the wrap is good, I still have pics before I wrapped the car, I wrapped it coz I loved the bristish racing green.

I bet that front lift comes in really handy! A DME report is a diagnostic report from the car's engine computer. Most Porsche shops can do it. It shows you how many ignitions happened above redline. There are two ranges (range 1 and range 2). Range 2 is deeper into redline. It's a small indication of how the car has been driven over the course of its life etc.

@Wng000007 people make a gigantic deal about this and are so dumb they ask for it on 997.2 pdk cars too.....This is the only platform that people pine and cry about DME reports as if its some golden bible provided with the car. You really should post pics of the car without the wrap, a wrap makes a car more difficult to sell (been here 2x) but the prior pics definitely help buyers.

were the seats come like that from factory or did you do the work afterwards? I agree with @lennon997 on the wrap. I purchased a 2009 997.1.5 that had the front wrapped in clear and I removed it. Yes it does protect from the chips etc, but a scuff with another bumber and you are toast. I know. I placed a bid, and I would remove the wrap and turn the seats back to black along with other green colored items. I have an extra center console, brand new that would go nicely. :-)
PS: I also own a highly modified 2004 Cab X50 that is a rocket. Good thing that I used to race cars and was an instructor

@Wng000007 hi. It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think there is ever a perfect car when buying used. So you settle for some of the likes from the previous owners. I think there are some factors why you are not getting higher bids. Like you, I have my little collection as well and I love the 996 TT.
BTW, I do like the color green, but not crazy about wraps

The auction ends today, wng000007.
The ideal situation is when the seller and the buyer are both on the same page. This is a low miles car with a manual transmission. I am super excited for that reason. I think the average cabriolet has never seen the track and thus DME would likely show a handful of missed shifts, but not a pattern of abuse.

quite a lot going on with this car...... a stock midnight blue metallic MT 996TT would sell for way more than this car...... Seller should have removed all his preference mods. This car is ideally suited to ONE person- the current owner- and no one else.

The car has a market value. The seller ha already stated he is simply testing the market and probably has a reserve set too high hoping to land a collector.

I'm pretty annoyed to hear the seller is just "testing the market" here. It's a waste of everyone's time. If this had been on another unnamed site, the seller would have been raked over the coals with the lack of preparation in selling a 20k mile turbo. This is a nice car that's been way too customized for most people's taste. I would have removed the wrap (although personally I like the green) and provided way more documentation.
