2018 Lexus LC500 Coupe
Presentation
Introduced for 2018 as Lexus's flagship grand touring coupe, the LC 500 pairs a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Infrared over a black leather and microsuede interior, this example features a carbon-fiber roof, triple-beam LED headlights, 21" forged alloy wheels, an Adaptive Variable Suspension, a head-up display, and a Mark Levinson sound system. Acquired by the seller in 2025, this LC 500 is now being offered for auction in California showing approximately 73k miles on the odometer.
Finished in Infrared, this LC 500 features a carbon-fiber roof, triple-beam LED headlights, flush door handles, window tint, parking sensors with a backup camera, and a rear diffuser. The seller reports that portions of the front clip and a rear quarter panel were repainted and notes a small chip in the windshield. The car rides on polished, black-accented 21" forged alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone tires, which the seller recommends replacing. The CARFAX report notes damage in May 2018 as well as damage and an insurance total-loss declaration in January 2023, and the vehicle carries a California salvage title.
The interior is trimmed in black leather and microsuede and features heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats with driver-position memory, rear bucket seats, a head-up display, an analog clock, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, a touchpad infotainment system with navigation, and a Mark Levinson sound system. LFA-inspired instrumentation includes a centrally mounted tachometer with a digital speedometer, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel carries magnesium shift paddles on a power-adjustable column. The seller describes the interior as well maintained. A warning light for the pop-up hood pedestrian-protection system is present, which the seller attributes to front crash-zone sensors requiring recalibration and a system reset by a certified Lexus dealer.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter 2UR-GSE V8 with dual VVT-i, which was factory rated at 471 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque, and drives the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes an active sport exhaust. The seller states the drivetrain is entirely stock and was unaffected by the accidents, with no airbags deployed. Recent work includes replacement of the front impact sensors, air filters, spark plugs, and the front brake pads and rotors in 2025, along with new pop-up hood actuators. Per a certified Lexus dealer, further work on the front crash-zone sensors and a pedestrian-system reset remain outstanding. The car passed a California emissions inspection in June 2026.
This sale will include the owner's manual, service records, a California salvage title, and a valid California smog certificate.
The seller would like you to know: "The car is 100% stock and runs and drives perfectly. All systems have been cleared by the dealer except the pop-up hood pedestrian mechanism, and no airbags were deployed in any of the accidents."

@Coursey1983 hello yes take a look at the receipt posted from lexus dealer You’ll see the detailed analyst run from the Lexus certified Dealer that states the other systems are active there is one estimate posted on this ad assessing the front crash zone and Sensor and hard rest. I believe it’s about $3500.00 somewhere around there. I’m more than comfortable if you want to take the car to another dealer as my dealer is in torrance but once again the investment of money I personally don’t ever plan on hitting a pedestrian …. Thanks my friend

Per a certified Lexus dealer, further work on the front crash-zone sensors and a pedestrian-system reset remain outstanding.
Do you have anything for Lexus stating that the airbag sensors are in working order?
Did you have a written quote from Lexus showing the cost to complete repairs?

@Coursey1983 hello my friend yes, you are 100% correct. The pedestrian sensor system is completely separate from all other safety system systems so the pop-up hood is the mechanism that if you were ever to hit a pedestrian, the hood, literally raises itself 4 inches to cushion the accident to the pedestrian nothing else so you would be correct. Thanks so much.

So the only issue with the car is the hood pop up sensors?
100% of all other systems and features work as Lexus intended?

Truly, a beautiful car I really put it in the l arena of the exotics It’s all about perspective. It’s really like having three different vehicles in one because of the drive modes. Echo makes it fuel efficient but soft driving normal is aggressive. Sport is really aggressive and sport plus I would say should be track only as the car is blindingly fast so whoever gets it will enjoy it as a daily driver or a show car happy bidding.

@1966GC Hello my friend, as you know dealer diagnostics and servicing of Lexus vehicle systems can get expensive reassessment of the front crash zone and recalibration of the front bumper pedestrian sensors depending upon the dealership can be as little as several thousand dollars or as much as 3 to 5 thousand noting that the silent illumination of the pop-up hood mechanism does not bother me, I opted not to replace or repair the front end crash zone or reset the pedestrian safety system as it is not a safety or functioning requirement of the vehicle as I enjoy driving the car and going to car-shows in the car I have no safety concerns about the car It is not something that I care to invest in the vehicle is in excellent running condition and it’s totally safe in regards to accident protection however dealer reset and calibration would get the car back to 100% in the opinion of the certified lexus dealership. As far as Im concerned that’s for someone else to do who is more of a perfectionist thanks for your question.

Have ask, with all the work done why didn’t they finish the “hard reset” as you said to complete the job? Is it just popup hood thing that doesn’t work or an overall safety mechanism that is not working?

Hello welcome to my Auction of my 2018 Lexus Lc500 truly a dynamic vehicle it has some history with minor accidents much of it bumper hood, fenders and rear bumper replacement keep in mind airbags were never deployed. The only system deployment-was the passenger pop-up hood and the actuators have been replaced. Car needs more tinkering with someone who can appreciate getting it to Perfect condition. Lexus certified dealer believe that sensors in the front bumper need to be calibrated and there needs to be a hard reset to get the car perfect the only warning light that illuminates is a see your dealer pop-up hood mechanism malfunction, which doesn’t bother me. It does not chime or blink annoyingly or affect the drivability or safety of the car. I actually don’t even notice it, anyway please feel free to ask questions and please know that this car everything that you see. Thanks again guys.
