So it looks like approximately $8K in parts were replaced during refurbishment. All the glass, both mirrors, headlamps, and taillights? Am I reading the invoice correctly?

This is technically a 2-owner car. I bought it from the original owner's son, who inherited the car. Lots of care have gone into this car.

All U.S.-spec 1Ms had adaptive xenons as standard, meaning the low beams swivel horizontally based on steering input.

I don’t recall stating that the headlights on the car are the adaptive version. Meaning, they turn in the direction the car is going or they can also be set to be fixed. I thought it would be appropriate to mention that.

@whynotbuyit - Thank you for noticing my car. You are correct, that area is the same that WOB uses to shoot his videos. I have not had a chance to interact with that seller. I have lived in the area for many years. I remember there was nothing but open space. Most of the commercial buildings seen in the video are fairly new.

@Klesk4000 - The high pressure fuel pump has not been replaced, no issues with it at this time. The mechanic tested the pump during the fuel injectors replacement. He confirmed it was working properly. The injectors are index 12, OEM parts. I remember the injectors took about 2 months to arrive from
Germany. Hope this helps.
Aug 13, 2026 · 15:27
Has the high pressure fuel pump been replaced? What index are the injectors?
Aug 13, 2026 · 15:26
@iwantafireorangee92m3 - The final invoice for the paint work has been submitted. Some of the parts that were removed in the process could have been reused. However, I decided to have new original BMW parts to be installed instead.
Aug 13, 2026 · 14:38
@Vicopel, thanks for the service records, could you also attach the paintwork documents?
Aug 13, 2026 · 13:49
@iwantafireorangee92m3 - Regarding the engine carbon buildup cleaning, it has not been done. However, when the fuel injectors were replaced, the mechanic did a camera inspection to check for carbon buildup as part of the process. He found no need to conduct a cleaning because there was no presence of buildup. He is big on addressing small things before they get worse. Pics of maintenance work will follow shortly.
Aug 13, 2026 · 03:55
Any chance you’d be able to post the latest service records (prior 3-4 years)?
Also, has it ever had a carbon cleaning?

I wanted to note that the paint job on the car was done by a reputable body shop in the area. They work on high end vehicles and their work is top notch. However, they are not cheap. The total cost for the paint job on my car was shy of $27,000. In addition, the PPF was $6,000 and it was applied by a highly regarded vehicle wrap company in the area. I knew that repainting the whole car was a bit if leap to take. At the end I am glad I did it, not only because I wanted the paint to be free of nicks and rock chips, but also because I could drive the car without the worry of further damage. Documentation about that work done is included with the car.
Aug 12, 2026 · 03:54
@mingardia - The car has never tuned. That computer was reprogrammed after the DMTL pump/module was replaced. A service document related to that service is included in the maintenance history of the car.

As many people may be aware, Valencia Orange takes on different tones depending on the lighting and angles.
Aug 10, 2026 · 14:37
This would be the 1M to buy: Reasonable miles, well-maintained, best color, slight imperfections so it can be driven and enjoyed, not sit in a garage only to be buffed with a diaper.
Aug 10, 2026 · 14:06
I bought one of these in 2011 and daily drove it for 13 years, accumulating 65k miles.
These are great cars. One of the last generations of cars with hydraulic power steering, which offers superb weighting and feel.
Weak points on all them are the charge pipes (addressed here) and a footwell control module and not much else.
Mine was white, this is the much more desirable launch color featured in the car magazines (remember those?).

For those that don’t know, the charge pipe was the weak link from the factory. The fact that this car has an aftermarket charge pipe is a positive, not a negative.

@Vicopel - Thanks for the effort to add those pics and putting in the $$$/time to preserve one of the world's great cars! The next owner is getting a great driver with perfect paint. A great combination.

Interesting and expensive choice to respray the car. I understand the desire from an OCD perspective. Any pics of the car before or during the prep? Also this is the first I've seen of a world wide production number plate (pic 208). I've seen individual country number plates (Canadian and UK) but not total production. Was the plate available though BMW? GLWTA

I am the owner of this BMW 1M. I just wanted to drop a few notes regarding the history of car.
I am technically the second owner, even though the Carfax states there have been two previous owners. I purchased the car from the son of the original owner, who was an older gentleman. He eventually passed the car on to his son, who was not a car guy and decided to sell it. I ended up buying the car from him in 2019.
I have serviced the car regularly to make sure it runs great at all times. I enjoy doing some of the work myself. I have done all the oil changes and some other maintenance. However, for most involved or technical work I have a local independent BMW shop to do the work. The owner is a highly trained BMW master tech, who used to work for a local BMW dealership.
In the past the car had the electric coolant pump replaced and the coolant system drained and refilled with fresh OEM coolant. A brake fluid service was performed at the same time. Also, the DMTL pump (Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage) was replaced. The fuel injectors and spark plugs have been changed. The brake rotors and pads have been replaced, the charge pipe has been upgraded to an aluminum pipe.
The car has been repainted due to small rock chips in several panels. I decided to have it painted because I am little of an OCD person and the paint nicks/chips kept bothering me. I picked a body ship recommended by the local BMW and Porsche dealerships. I also did some research on the shop myself before letting them do the work. I was very pleased with the work they did. To prevent any damage to the paint I decided to install a Paint Protection Film by a highly reputable shop in the area. They used the XPEL Ultimate Plus film, which was the best product in the market at the time. The total cost for the PPF was more than $6,000. I waited two months after the car was painted before the PPF was applied. Please note, the car was repainted not due to an accident, but due to paint imperfections on several body panels.
Additional work has been done to the car and all the previous maintenance documents and receipts will be included. The 1M comes with the original window sticker, two original keys, all the owner's manual booklets, and the BMW poster. The car has all OEM equipment, with the exception of the charge pipe. There are no modifications.
I pride myself to provide my cars with the proper maintenance, and this car is no exception. There is nothing that needs attention as far as maintenance.
I will try my best to be engaged in the auction as much as possible. I will try my best to answer questions as quick as possible.
