1977 Porsche 911S Targa 5-Speed
Presentation
Representing the final iteration of Porsche's 2.7-liter "mid-year" 911 series before the arrival of the 3.0-liter SC, this 1977 911S Targa pairs a fuel-injected flat-six with an optional 5-speed manual transaxle. Finished in black over matching interior upholstery with factory-optioned Sport Seats, this example is now being offered for auction in Oregon showing less than 62k miles on the odometer.
Finished in black, this Targa features a black stainless-steel Targa bar, a removable black roof panel, body-color headlamp rings, chrome door handles, front fog lights, a driver's side mirror, impact bumpers, and a side-exit exhaust outlet. The car rides on 15" Fuchs alloy wheels, and window tint has been applied. The seller notes clear coat lifting on the front hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The black interior features factory-optioned Sport Seats along with power windows, a Blaupunkt stereo, VDO instrumentation, and a three-spoke steering wheel. The seller notes that the sport seats could use a refresh and that the dashboard has a crack.
Power comes from an air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic (CIS) fuel injection, a magnesium crankcase, and cooling improvements introduced for the 1977 model year, including an 11-blade engine fan. Factory rated at approximately 165 HP, the engine drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. Standard performance features include four-wheel ventilated disc brakes and a torsion-bar suspension.
